Magma: The Work Issue

It was an honour to read at the London Launch of Magma 74: The Work Issue, edited by the brilliant Pauline Seawards and Benedict Newbery.

The Work Issue includes my poem, ‘Continue on Loop’: a sestina that marks the unrecognised labour of parenting, and hopes to speak to the intense love and exhilaration of motherhood, alongside the loneliness, boredom, and the work that other’s constantly undo (Adrienne Rich).

There was a range of powerful readings, from Alison Brackenbury’s ‘Work Experience’ to Carole Bromley’s ‘Consent Form’ (both pictured above). Claire Booker also gave a lovely reading, and has since written more about the launch event.

The Work Issue is available to buy on Magma’s website, and you can see the full list of contributors in the table of contents.
