Book Launch: Moon Milk

Come and join us next Thursday morning (19th July) at Hagglers Corner for the baby-friendly launch of Moon Milk my new pamphlet published by Valley Press.

There will also be a guest reading from the wonderful poet Kate Garrett-Nield.

We’ll be in the beautiful courtyard at Haggler’s if the weather is nice! Come and try some of their lovely coffee and cake!

There will also be an Open Mic – come along or send me a message if you’d like to read a poem or short piece of your own, or share a favourite poem or passage. The event will be relaxed and informal.

You can find out more on the Facebook event page.

The event is FREE and ALL are WELCOME.

‘Moon Milk’ explores pregnancy and birth, and largely unmapped territories of loss, bewilderment, shame, joy and transformation.

“Moon Milk blew me away. I love the mythologizing, the variety of form, the delicate handling of emotion and the feminist angle. A very fine book.” Carole Bromley

– “Rachel Bower’s poems brim with generosity and intelligence. Her work takes an unsentimental-but-joyous look at motherhood, and there’s always hope and comfort in the way her writing defamiliarises the world. These poems are intimate and honest, full of strange fruit, glimpses of the moon, moments of privacy. They create new desire paths in language – paths you won’t be able to resist following.” Helen Mort

Copies of the book will be available to buy at the event.
